Fijne Kerst - Merry Christmas

Als ik één wens mag doen, wens ik jullie een warme Kerst in gezelschap van mensen die je dierbaar zijn.

Uitdaging november - challenge november

Deze maand stelde Christine ons voor een iets moeilijkere uitdaging. 
Best kan men het omschrijven als het maken van een 'tegeltjeskaart'.
De basiskaart rillen zodat er een gridpatroon ontstaat. Met behulp van een tweede kaart gaan we de basiskaart maskeren en sponzen.
Daarna stempelen op de kaart en verder afwerken.
Dit is mijn eerste probeersel en ineens de eerste kerstkaart van het jaar.

This month, Christine presented us with a slightly more difficult challenge.
Best described as making a card with a 'tile pattern'.
Using a scoreboard we crease the base card to create a grid pattern. We do the same with a second card from which we cut a row of tiles. We use this second card to mask and sponge the base card. Then stamp on the card and finish.
This is my first try and at once the first Christmas card of the year.

Geboortekaartjes

Deze zomer werden enkele baby's geboren bij vrienden en familie. Ik had eerst kaartjes gemaakt volgens de techniek die we geleerd hadden op de workshop van Willie Duit. Maar mijn echtgenoot vond deze niet geschikt als babykaart. Ze waren niet schattig genoeg. Dan maar 2 andere 'schattige' kaartjes gemaakt.

This summer, some babies were born to friends and family. I had first made cards using the technique we had learnt at Willie Duit's workshop. But my husband thought these were not suitable as baby cards. They were not cute enough. Then I made 2 other 'cute' cards.

Uitdaging oktober - challenge october

Voor oktober had Christine weer een leuke uitdaging voor ons.

- Scheur stroken papier, geef de randen een kleurtje.
- Eventueel kan je voor het scheuren hier en daar een lichte stempel afdruk maken.
- Scheur de strookjes in stukjes en geef ook de 2 overige randjes een kleurtje.
- Smeer een paar centimeters van de kaart in met Mod Podge .
- Schik daarop de stukjes papier dakpans gewijze.
- Herhaal tot de hele kaart vol gekleefd is met stukjes papier.
- Als de hele basiskaart vol gekleefd is met stukjes papier geef je bovenop nog ’n extra laagje Mod Podge.
   Zo zit alles goed vast en krijg je na droging ’n soort vernis laagje.
- Dan snij je de randen zodat de kaart een paar millimeter kleiner is dan de mat en de randen netjes zijn.
- Werk verder af.

For October, Christine had another nice challenge for us.

- Tear strips of paper, colour the edges.

- Before tearing the strops, you can make a light stamp here and there.

- Tear the strips into pieces and colour the 2 remaining edges too.

- Coat a few centimetres of the card with Mod Podge .

- Arrange the pieces of paper roof tile-wise on top.

- Repeat until the whole card is filled with pieces of paper.

- When the whole base card is covered with pieces of paper, add an extra layer of Mod Podge on top.

  This way everything is firmly stuck and you get a kind of varnish when dry.

- Then cut the edges so that the card is a few millimetres smaller than the mat and the edges are neat.

- Finish the card. 

Halloween

Halloween, lekker griezelen. Je bent een fan of je hebt er een hartsgrondige hekel aan. Ik hou er wel van om het huis te decoreren met heksen en spookjes en ik ben blij met een kaarten swap met als thema Halloween. Dit is mijn bijdrage.

Halloween, nice and spooky. You are a fan or you heartily hate it. I do love to decorate the house with witches and ghosts and I like it to participate in a card swap with the theme of Halloween. This is my contribution.

Workshop Willy Duit

Zaterdag organiseerde Chantal Verhoeven een workshop onder leiding van Willy Duit. Wat een leuke dag is het geworden. Willy is een heel fijne dame die alles heel duidelijk uitlegt. 

We maakten in de voormiddag 3 kleurrijke kaarten; telkens met een andere techniek. Onder de middag genoten we van een lekkere lunch, verzorgd door Chantal. Na de middag maakten we nog 2 kaarten uit de inspiratieworkshops van Willy. Deze maal dezelfde techniek. We gingen naar huis met 5 prachtige kaarten. Het was een heel leerrijke en fijne dag. Het deed deugd oude vrienden terug te zien en met nieuwe kennis te maken. Dank je wel Willy en Chantal.

On Saturday, Chantal Verhoeven organised a workshop led by Willy Duit. What a fun day it turned out to be. Willy is a very nice lady who explains everything very clearly.
In the morning, we made 3 colourful cards, each using a different technique.
At noon we enjoyed a delicious lunch, prepared by Chantal.
In the afternoon, we made 2 more cards from Willy's inspiration workshops. This time using the same technique. We went home with 5 beautiful cards.
It was a very inspiring and pleasant day. It was good to see old friends again and meet new ones. Thank you Willy and Chantal.

Uitdaging

 Een nieuwe uitdaging van Christine.

Gebruik volle stempels, witte stempelinkt, inkt in een contrasterende kleur, gekleurd papier.
Kaartpapier op de juiste maat knippen.
Stempel met de witte inkt rond de rand van het papier.
Stempel met de contrasterende kleur hetzelfde motief ‘n paar millimeter naast en over de witte afdruk.
De kaart matten op een witte kaart.

Ik heb gewerkt op kraft papier en er een beetje een eigen invulling aan gegeven.

The new challenge: Use bold stamps, white stamp ink, ink in a contrasting colour, coloured paper.
Cut card paper to the right size.
Stamp with the white ink around the edge of the paper.
Using the contrast colour, stamp the same motif a few millimetres next to and over the white print.
Matt the card onto a white card.

I worked on kraft paper and gave it a little twist of my own.

Zomeroogst - Harvest of a long summer

Om de woorden van Gerard Cox te gebruiken: " 't Is weer voorbij die mooie zomer". Na weken van hitte en droogte, is het weer compleet omgeslagen. Meestal was het te warm om creatief bezig te zijn. Maar ik heb toch enkele kaartjes en ATC's om jullie te tonen. Veel kijkplezier. 

In the words of Gerard Cox, "It's over again that beautiful summer". After weeks of heat and drought, the weather completely turned around. Mostly, it was too hot to be creative. But I still have some cards and ATCs to show you. Have fun watching. 

Enkele verjaardagskaartjes - some birthdaycard

Voor ATC België 3 mixed media ATC's gemaakt. 

De opdracht was: Kleef boekpapier op je kaart, bewerk het met gesso en geef kleur. Daarna bestempelen en afwerken met een tag/label en een bloem. Dit is mijn bijdrage. Ook een kaartje gemaakt voor de ontvanger.

I created 3 mixed media ATCs for ATC Belgium. 

The assignment was: Glue book paper on your card, treat it with gesso and add colour. Then stamp and finish with a tag/label and a flower. This is my contribution. I also made a card for the person I had to sent my ATC.

Swap ATC-België

Hallo allemaal, 
De voorbije maanden heb ik nog eens deelgenomen aan de swap van ATC-België. Het eerste thema was 'bloemen'. Het tweede 'Reizen en postzegels'. Hierbij mijn bijdrage.

Knutseldag bij Els

Intussen ook al een maand geleden, ben ik bij Els gaan stempelen. Door ziekte ben ik dit jaar niet naar het Art specially event kunnen gaan en Els was zo lief om mijn bestellingen en meer mee te brengen. Door triestige omstandigheden hadden we elkaar nog niet kunnen zien, maar in juni hebben we een heel fijne dag samen doorgebracht. We hebben samen één van de technieken die gegeven werden op de workshops van het ASE samen uitgeprobeerd en dit is het resultaat. We hebben het ook in verschillende variaties uitgevoerd en elk met een ander maar niet minder mooi resultaat. De hoofdstempels zijn allemaal van Art Specially.

Already a month ago, I went to Els for stamping. Due to illness I could not go to the Art specially event this year and Els was so kind to bring my orders and more. Due to sad circumstances we had not been able to see each other yet, but in June we had a very nice day together. We tried out one of the techniques given at the ASE workshops and this is the result. We also did it in different variations, each with an other but no less beautiful result.  The main stamps are all from Art Specially.
